There are other ways to give to the YMCA. For more information on any of the methods of giving described in this section, please contact our financial development office at (973) 758-9622 or e-mail Peter Rosario.
Volunteer Incentive Programs
A growing number of companies are supporting their employee’s volunteer efforts, by making donations in recognition of volunteer service to a local charity such as the YMCA. Typically, the employer will make a modest gift (up to $500) if an employee volunteers a given number (typically 50) hours to the YMCA. The employer will ask the YMCA to verify your volunteer hours.
Please visit your company’s website or Human Resources department for more information and to receive an application from your company.
Appreciated Stock and Securities
The YMCA will kindly accept gifts of long-term (owned for over 1 year) appreciated stock or securities. In addition to your charitable deduction, you can avoid capital gains taxes. To receive a sample stock transfer letter with our broker’s contact information, please e-mail Peter Rosario.
Gifts-In-Kind
The YMCA will accept selected goods and professional services as gifts-in-kind. Please contact your local YMCA's Executive Director for donations of gifts-in-kind.
