Week 9: August 21 to August 25

Anything Goes - Preschool

Week 9 of Summer Camp is full of fun activities, including a Dance Glow Party. IMPORTANT: Campers should wear their camp T-shirt, socks and sneakers on Thursday, August 24 for the party! 

 

Culinary Creations: Pancake Lollipops

Preschool campers will make animal-shaped pancake lollipops.

 

Move N' Groove: Dance Off

Campers will sit in a circle and the counselor will call two campers at a time to battle each other to the music. Remember, each campers is a winner!

 

Sensory Play: Coloring Packet

Campers will be coloring different pages from the themes of Weeks 1-9.

 

Global Arts: Sand Art

Campers will make sand art from salt and chalk by rubbing the different colored chalk onto the salt.

 

Natural Wonders: Flower Pot

All campers will create their very own flower pot on a sheet of construction paper with pipe cleaners and a flower top.

 

Mad Scientists: walking Water

Campers will learn how the capillary action of the water moves while it "walks" up the paper towels in am empty cup.

 

Y Fitness! Balloon Drop

Slow and steady wins the race in this game. Campers will have to use their knees to transport a balloon from start to finish.

 

Swimming

Click here for the Swimming Schedule for each group. Please send your child to camp with their bathing suit on their swim days. On scheduled swim days, please do not put any lotion on your child. Send in some for after swimming.

Culinary Creations: Disco Disc

Campers will make these sweet treats by using pancake mix and chocolate chips.

 

Move N' Groove: Just Dance

Campers will shake it up as they dance around to the latest dance moves.

 

Team Building: Salt and Pepper

This activity is fun, excellent for energizing your team, and also great as a quick ice-breaker exercise.

 

Global Arts: Picture Perfect

Campers will make hand crafted picture frames using Popsicles and various other craft materials.

 

Natural Wonders: Gardening

Campers will discover the world of nature by planting with our specialist.

 

Mad Scientists: Dancing Gummy Worms

Campers are going to watch the gummy worms dance around the cup.

 

Y Fitness! Decorate a Tree Relay

Campers will compete with one another as they become one with nature by becoming trees.

East Orange YMCA Day Camps provide a safe and enriching environment for campers to participate in healthy, developmentally-appropriate activities and learning experiences.

Our camps focus on building self-esteem, confidence and social skills while increasing independence and health and wellness awareness.  Your camper will have fun and make new friends while exploring new experiences.

STAFF

We carefully select and screen caring role models who demonstrate a passion for developing confidence and good character in youth.  The Y maintains a commitment to a recruiting process that includes comprehensive training and background checks.  A large percentage of our lead staff are year-round employees with many years of experience and training.

We continue this tradition by providing exciting and fun-filled summer camps for young people with a full range of educational and recreational activities for children between ages 3 and 15.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Day trips are free.

Each child receives a camp t-shirt that must be worn on trip days (additional camp t-shirts may be purchased for $10.00 each).

We have an indoor, heated pool on site and parents are given a swimming schedule according to their child's camp.  Camper's must have a swimsuit, swim cap, towel, change of clothes, rubber soled shoes and a plastic bag (for wet clothing).

Breakfast, lunch and a PM snack are served daily.

(Explorers, Achievers and Adventurers Day Camps)

DATES: 9 weeks; June 26 - August 25
HOURS: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Before Camp Care: 7:00-8:30, INCLUDED
After Camp Care: 3:30-6:30pm, INCLUDED
CAMP FEE: Ages 3-13, $164 per week; ages 14-15, $100 per week (We do accept Programs for Parents and financial assistance is available).
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE: Youth $80; Family $150 (valid for 12 months starting on the process date)
CAMP REGISTRATION FEE: $25 (one-time for the summer)
