The East Orange YMCA offers a number of teen programs to choose from:

Our Teen Center opened in October 2004 is an Afterschool Program designed just for teenagers ages 11 to 14 years old.  The activities include arts & crafts, computers, games, homework help, music, trips, special events and guest speakers.  There is a yearly membership fee of $25

The Minority Achievers Program focuses on helping youth develop life coping skills. Educational programs are conducted with adult mentors becoming activity involved as role models. Mentors volunteer their time to assist young people in reaching their goals.

Teen Nights are designed to give teens an opportunity to socialize with their peers in a safe and structured environment. Teens participate in swimming, computers and other recreational activities.

The Gang Awareness Prevention Program (GAPP) is hosted by the New Jersey Department of Corrections. It consists of a series of workshops, at the East Orange YMCA, to discuss gang issues with community youths. These workshops are free.

Be Proud! Be Responsible! Program will give our teens strategies to help enpower our youth to reduce their risks for HIV/AIDS.  This program is a collaboration with The American Red Cross.  This informative 8-week program will meet every Tuesday beginning April 5 until Tuesday May 24 from 4-6pm.  The location will be in the Teen Center at Turrell Gym, 159 N. Munn Ave.
