Give To The Y
"When I lost my job, I had no idea how I was going to be able to watch my daughter and look for a new job. Thanks to the YMCA, I was able to keep my daughter safe and happy, and I was able to get a new job after three months. There is no way I could have done it with the wonderful people at the YMCA."

Our strength comes from your support. There are multiple ways to help support your local Y. Get involved today and help us make a difference in your community.
The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve.
When you give to the Y, you continue to strengthen our community and move us all forward. As the nation's leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y uses your gift to make a meaningful, enduring impact right in our own backyard.
Your support helps the Y deliver on our commitment:
- To nurture the potential of youth through building confidence at camp, academic enrichment in safe afterschool programs, or foundational skills and values in our child care programs.
- To improve the nation’s health and well-being through combating obesity and chronic disease by providing the support and resources people need to make positive change.
- To give back and support our neighbors by empowering people with the resources to improve their lives and connect and contribute to the community, such as with job training, housing, newcomer services, and opportunities to advocate for social change.
- To offer programs and services to children, adults and families who need financial assistance.

General Operating Support
Through our General Operating Support funds we are able to keep the costs of membership and program affordable while maintaining program quality and delivery. By donating to General Operating Support, you provide the YMCA with maximum flexibility to address funding gaps for programs and services as needed.
Each year, the YMCA makes significant capital improvements to all its branches and facilities. By donating to the YMCA’s capital fund, you can help us to keep our facilities current and up to date for years to come.
Volunteer Incentive Programs
A growing number of companies are supporting their employee’s volunteer efforts, by making donations in recognition of volunteer service to a local charity such as the YMCA. Typically, the employer will make a modest gift (up to $500) if an employee volunteers a given number (typically 50) hours to the YMCA. The employer will ask the YMCA to verify your volunteer hours.
Appreciated Stock and Securities
The YMCA will kindly accept gifts of long-term (owned for over 1 year) appreciated stock or securities. In addition to your charitable deduction, you can avoid capital gains taxes. To receive a sample stock transfer letter with our broker’s contact information, please call 973 758 9622.
The YMCA will accept selected goods and professional services as gifts-in-kind. Please contact your local YMCA Executive Director for donations of gifts-in-kind.
Many companies will match your gift to the YMCA on a dollar for dollar basis. In effect, you can double your gift to the YMCA. Please click here to conduct a Matching Gifts Search.
