Our adult exercise classes and sports programs promote fitness and well-being while fostering community. Make new friends, increase your self-confidence and improve your spiritual, mental and physical health.  Now we offer an easy drop-in program where no membership is required for these four Adult Classes.  Please call (973) 762-4145 for more information.

Y DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM (AGES 18+)
The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program helps individuals at high risk adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle to reduce chances of developing Type 2 Diabetes. PraiseMoves has been called the “Christian alternative to yoga”. This class uses gentle movement in a series of deep stretching and strength-building postures, each linked to Scripture verse, which is focused upon, while doing the postures. PraiseMoves is performed through full ranges of movement that include gentle, deep diaphragmatic breathing that strives to balance flexibility, strength, endurance and relaxation. By improving your flexibility and strengthening your muscles with PraiseMoves, you will not only enhance your ability to perform daily tasks, you will also improve your posture, help alleviate common aches and pains, reduce back pain, and increase your overall sense of health and well-being. People of all faiths are welcome in this class and would benefit physically, emotionally, and spiritually from it. Please bring your own roll-up exercise mat and water bottle.
Thursday 7:30-8:30pm
Location: Civic House - 124 Dunnell Road, Maplewood - Across from where the old Police Station was.
Fee:$5 Drop in fee per class. First time participants, please arrive at least 5 minutes early to register.

ZUMBA® (18 & up)
Come participate in this fun and exciting class. Certified Zumba instructors Carole Smith and Dionne Colon's high energy and enthusiasm are contagious and will help you get in great shape, relieve stress and burn calories - while having a blast. The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. All levels welcome, you don’t have to be a good dancer to do this class, must be 18 years of age or older.

TOTAL BODY KICK (18 & up) Previously call Cardio Kickboxing 
Feel great with this all-over, stress-busting workout! This one hour class begins with a fun, heart-pumping, cardio kickboxing segment, followed by toning, sculpting and strengthing on the mat. Appropriate for all fitness and skill levels.
Wednesday 7:30 - 8:30pm

ADULT BASKETBALL - Open Court (18 & Up)
Adult recreational 4x4 pick-up games. Must be among the first 20 people to play.
Sunday 10:00am - 1:00pm

Fee: $5 drop-in fee  First time participants, please arrive at least 5 minutes early to register.

ADULT ADVANCED VOLLEYBALL (18 & Up)
Recreational pick-up games for skilled volleyball players.
