Adult Programs

Our adult exercise classes and sports programs promote fitness and well-being while fostering community. Make new friends, increase your self-confidence and improve your spiritual, mental and physical health.  Now we offer an easy drop-in program where no membership is required for these four Adult Classes.  Please call (973) 762-4145 for more information.

SUNRISE YOGA (Ages 16+)  
Looking to revitalize your mornings and be refreshed as the sun rises? Join Varrita Siryon for our Sunrise Yoga class. Offered twice a week, this class is welcome to all levels, from those just beginning their yoga journey to those looking to expand their practice. Varrita is certified by the Yoga Alliance in addition to her many years of teaching gymnastics here at the Y. Her welcoming demeanor is sure to start you off on the right foot in the morning!

NEW - BARRE (Ages 16+)  
With the addition of new equipment, comes our new Barre class! Taught by Gailmarie Sprague, this class is designed to work your core, balance, strength and flexibility. Gailmarie has been teaching dance for over 10 years and adult dance fitness classes since 2011. This barre class is anything but boring and will have you sweating but smiling by the end! Change up your fitness routine with us.

We are introducing a new package system. For just $100, you will get 16 Yoga/Barre classes. Come to both yoga classes all session, choose barre and yoga or mix and match! Get ready for summer with these great options to work your mind, body and spirit.


MAT PILATES − (Ages 16+)
An open-level class in the strengthening core exercises of Joseph Pilates. These exercises are executed on the floor on a small mat in a sequence perfect for developing your core muscles through focused, centered, controlled, conditioning through your every breath. Learn the correct positioning for safety and effective movement. “The Movement will Make the Change.” Class size is limited.

Mondays 6:30 -7:30pm - July 10-Aug 10; No classes 8/17 - 9/7

New - PILATES INSTRUCTION  in the Joseph Pilates Classic Method (Ages 18+)
Pilates Instruction will be off for the Summer and Return on September 14, 2015
One-on-one individual programmed hour sessions in Mat and on the apparatus, reformer, tower, and ladder barrel. Every client begins in a different place depending on his or her life experience and physical capabilities. Through the centuries old Method, learn to strengthen and lengthen your muscles, improve posture, and insure your body to function at its best. Experience a healthier lifestyle and make positive changes in body and mind. Find a partner and enjoy a duet session for the same price.

ZUMBA® (Ages 18+)
Come participate in this fun and exciting class. Certified Zumba instructors Carole Smith and Dionne Colon's high energy and enthusiasm are contagious and will help you get in great shape, relieve stress and burn calories - while having a blast. The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. All levels welcome, you don’t have to be a good dancer to do this class, must be 18 years of age or older.

TOTAL BODY KICK (Ages 18+) Previously call Cardio Kickboxing
Feel great with this all-over, stress-busting workout! This one hour class begins with a fun, heart-pumping, cardio kickboxing segment, followed by toning, sculpting and strengthening on the mat. Appropriate for all fitness and skill levels.
Wednesday 7:30 - 8:30pm  No Total Body Kick Class 7/1-9/2
Location: YMCA Program Center
Fee: $5 Drop in fee per class. First time participants, please arrive at least 5 minutes early to register.

Recreational pick-up games for skilled volleyball players.
Sunday 7:30pm - 9:30pm
