South Mountain YMCA

Board of Managers

Our Board of Managers aims to ensure that all families and children have the opportunity to experience the Y, regardless of their ability to pay. We believe lasting personal and social change happens when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. Practicing the FOUR CORE values of the Y: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility will continue to strengthen and help our community thrive.

It's easy for me to volunteer for the Y's board. My children grew up as Y kids and through the Y they've learned the Y's norms: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The positive lessons imparted have made them kids with heart, and an understanding and eagerness to engage the diverse community and world they live in.

I am forever grateful to the South Mountain YMCA for its work to help every child reach his or her potential – developing confidence, compassion, and so much more. I've watched its mission unfold first-hand through my own three children and countless others in our community.

My children are now 24 and 22 years old and I'm now on the Board at South Mountain Y because I want to give back to an organization that gave so much to my children in the early stages of their child development. The Y provided an immersive learning through play curriculum which more than prepared them for seamless transition to pre-K school and beyond.
