South Mountain YMCA

Golf Camp

The South Mountain YMCA and TGA of Essex and Morris Counties are partnering to offer boys and girls of all ages and skill levels a fun camp atmosphere to learn to play golf. Golf Camp is tailored for ALL SKILL LEVELS; from those who have never played before to the more experienced player looking to advance their game. Camp will be staffed by certified TGA instructors who focus on improving all aspects of each camper's golf game through specifically designed lesson plans. This camp has a student to instructor ratio of 4:1, ensuring that each camper gets the individual attention and time necessary to achieve their goals.  Sample of Daily Schedule

Campers practice all aspects of the game: Swing Fundamentals, Chipping, Putting, Driving, Golf Rules Etiquette, Competitive Formats (Best Ball, Match Play, etc.), Course Management and Decision Making (Driver vs. Iron off the tee, etc.), and Practice Techniques. Course Play, Tournament Play, Skills Challenges and more will be part of each week’s planned activities. Each day campers will use the practice range area, putting/chipping green, and the golf course. Campers will also look forward to Golf Olympics each week. Campers will build friendships, gain self-confidence, and create lifelong memories. Every student will receive a Hat, Hat Clip (Ball Marker), Golf Guide and Prizes. Campers provide their own lunch, beverage, snacks, sunglasses and sunscreen. Clubs are provided.
