All programs and services are designed to nurture the potential of children, promote healthy living and foster a sense of social responsibility. Located directly between the South Orange and Maplewood train stations, our extended hours of operation are designed to meet both the recreational needs of our youth as well those of working parents.
Our very own Anjole King was selected to paint a piano for SOPAC's Playin’ Around South Orange, a public art project that put visual art and music out onto the streets of South Orange.View Full Story >

This summer our campers have made more friends, gained more skills and enjoyed more new experiences than ever before.
Camp is all about community, and we thank you for choosing to join the YMCA community this summer. What makes our community so special, is that we are a place for all. No one is turned away due to the inability to pay, we provide equal access, which means our camps are diverse, unique and offer a slice of life.
Four-year-old Trevon is a happy kid. His camp director Jenn says that he loves his days at the South Mountain YMCA summer Y Knots camp. It’s a nice break for Trevon who lives in a shelter with his mother Katrina where she is only able to take him out under supervision (Katrina is waiting to win court approval to be able to care for Trevon unsupervised).View Full Story >
