Camp Information, Newsletters & Forms

Educational entertainers, special event days and field trips are scheduled each session to coordinate with our weekly camp themes like Aloha Summer, Globetrotters, Under the Big Top, Y Rockstar and Treasure Island. Daily activities are run by Camp Specialists and may include: Cooking, Sports, Nature, Crafts, Reading, Drama and World Life.

During daily swim instruction, the children are placed into level-appropriate groups and are taken one at a time for individual swim lessons.

Swim lessons are based on the campers’ individual skill level.

Many Senior Staff are year round employees at the South Mountain Y Child Care Center or local teachers.  All of the staff is well trained and qualified, serving as positive role models for the campers. Your child will love our kid-friendly and creative program and you’ll love hearing about all of their adventures at the end of each day!

SMALL STEPS.  BIG DISCOVERIES!

At Y Knots Camps, we are intentional about everything that we do.  From the moment campers arrive, they are immersed in activities that help build character and confidence.  They form strong bonds with their counselors and campers and learn what it means to be part of a group and work with others.  They engage in challenging specials that inspire curiosity, creativity and learning.  They become more independent and develop a love of nature that stimulates their desire to make the world a better place.

Y KNOTS 1 CAMP: For children in or entering pre-school (3 1/2 - 5 years).  Campers must be potty-trained and accustomed to a short nap time.

Y KNOTS 2 CAMP: For children entering Kindergarten and 1st Grade, Y Knots 2 continues the traditional camp experience by providing a developmentally progressive environment in which campers have the opportunity to return to a familiar place as they make the transition to K/1st Grade.  They have the opportunity to interact.

Parent Shout-Outs:
“We saw an incredible difference in our son's confidence.  He slept better, ate better, drank more water.  He initiated play more often with others.  This camp changed our 4 year old!

“My son thrived from trying new things and meeting new people in such a warm and upbeat environment.  it has given him the confidence to approach new situations easily.  He had SO MUCH fun, it really made him deeply happy to go to camp each day.”

“He loves meeting new people, learning new things, challenging himself.  This has been an amazing experience that has helped him achieve each of these things.”

“She has always been self-confident but is even more so after her summer at the Y.  She LOVES seeing the Y logo (in Mexico/Maine/NC/FL).  It makes her feel a part of something."

"She LOVES and appreciates the respect and love she received from her counselors and how everyone knew her name.

"The Y Knots staff blew me away this year!  What a committed, enthusiastic and engaged bunch of counselors, an amazing group!"
