Internationally regarded as one of the most gifted pianists of her generation, lauded for her extraordinary artistry, musical intelligence and expressive intensity. Hailed by Fanfare as “an exemplar of the modern global pianist,” she is in demand for the depth of her musical insight of a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical to contemporary works. Since her debut performance at the Mostly Mozart Festival at the Sydney Opera House at the age of 12, Vivian Choi has performed extensively throughout Australia, Europe, North America and Asia. She is the recipient of several prestigious honors, among them the New South Wales Premier’s Award for Excellence in Music and the Australian Guild of Music and Speech for Outstanding Achievement. For her contributions to the arts, Ms. Choi was awarded the title of 2003 Achiever of the Year by the Australian-Korean Cultural Council, and, most recently, was honored with the Dame Joan Sutherland Fund grant from the American Australian Association.
Emmy Award winning composer Richard Reiter will perform his original jazz compositions. Reiter will play saxophones and flute, accompanied by pianist Mitch Schechter. The songs are all on Reiter’s compilation CD “The Best of Richard Reiter” which will be available for purchase. Reiter is a nationally acclaimed jazz performer whose music has also reached international audiences. Reiter improvises exciting solos that are emotional, adventuresome and thoughtfully structured. Reiter’s contemporary jazz groups have released four CDs (“Listener Friendly,” “Point of No Return,” “The Time Has Come” and “I Hear Africa”) that feature Reiter’s original compositions. These CDs have received rave reviews in DownBeat, JazzTimes, The Washington Post, Cash Box, Billboard and New York Daily News. His bands have opened for Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Ahmad Jamal, Duke Ellington Orchestra and Nancy Wilson. Of Reiter’s playing, Bill Milkowski wrote in Downbeat: “Richard Reiter has forged an expressive and personal sound.” George Kanzler wrote in the Newark Star Ledger: “Reiter is a resourceful soloist who composes exceptionally melodic compositions.”
One of the world’s leading and most charismatic guitarists, TALI ROTH is Chairman of The Juilliard School Pre-College Guitar program and serves as an adjunct professor on the faculty of New York University. Since her Carnegie Hall debut, Ms. Roth has performed as soloist throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Japan and her native Israel. Tali Roth has been hailed by Classical Guitar Magazine as “an extraordinary solo and chamber musician,” and has performed with flutist Carol Wincenc and members of the New York Philharmonic. She also has an extensive, globe-spanning history of collaborations with dance ensembles, including Douglas Dunn & Dancers (New York City), Glamourtango (Uruguay), Flamenco Komatsubara (Tokyo) and Silvia Duran Spanish Dance Company (Israel).
Matt Daniel is an immensely talented musician with a high-energy repertoire that includes his original compositions written indifferent styles of music including jazz, Latin, blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
