YMCA of Greater Bergen County

Membership

When you join the Y, you're coming together with men, women and children from your community who are committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

We know firsthand how difficult it can be to find balance in life. That's why we're here with you every day, making sure that you, your family and your community have the resources and support needed to learn, grow and thrive.

We do this by encouraging good health and fostering connections with new and old friends through sports, fun and shared interests.

20/20 Membership Program

We're introducing a new way to help create a healthier community and you can save a little too. When you and a friend join the Y at the same time, or referred by a member, you'll BOTH be enrolled in our 20/20 Membership Program to save 20% on your membership each month as long as you both remain members. It's that simple. Valid for Young Adult, Adult, Active Older Adult/Couple and Family, on our monthly draft.  Both members must be in these membership categories. Only one reduced rate applies per membership. Members may refer up to three new members. New Members are those who have not been a member in the current year.

Current Member does not need to be present when new member joins but new member must turn in Referral Form at the time they join.

Members who already receive a benefit through financial assistance, At-Your-Best, Military, Third-Party etc. may still refer a member but will not receive the 20% rate unless the savings of 20/20 is greater. In that case the member will cancel their current benefit and switch to 20/20.

Print out a Referral Form to give to a friend: YMCA Referral 20-20 Form

Nationwide Membership

The Y is for all. At the Y, we want everyone who comes through our doors to feel welcome and included and to know that they belong to a charitable cause that transforms lives. Nationwide Membership gives us another opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to these principles. We want our members to feel that, through Nationwide Membership, they're not going to different Y's but to their Ys-wherever they may be.

Nationwide Membership is available for active, full-facility, full privilege Y members whose home Y participates in Nationwide Membership (you can find a list of participating Ys at ymca.net). Nationwide members can visit any participating Y in the United States and Puerto Rico at no extra charge. If a Nationwide Member brings a guest who is not a Nationwide Member, the individual Y's guest policy will be used to allow entrance.

Participation in programs offered by participating Ys: Nationwide members are considered guests or program members when they visit participating Ys. They can register for programs and classes just as any other guest can, following the same procedures and fee schedules, and they can be charged fees for items like towels and lockers, if the visited Y charges its own members for these items.

Nationwide members may visit other participating Ys as often as they like, as long as they use their home Ys, on average, at least 50 percent of the time. If nationwide members have a family membership or some other inclusive membership arrangement and regularly use two Ys with the same frequency, they need to belong to the Y in the community where they live.

Nationwide members - snow birds, college students, and seasonal residents, for example - may live in a region away from their home Y for an extended period of time. If they intend to live away from their home Y for more than 28 days, they need to transfer their membership and pay membership dues to the participating Y they are visiting; this Y then becomes their home Y while they are in temporary residence.

Non-Participating YMCAs: are welcome to visit the Greater Bergen County YMCA for up to five free complimentary visits per month.
