Older adults participate in a chair yoga class on The Green

WAYNE, NJ - Just in time for summer, the Wayne YMCA is opening its doors to a new outdoor, multipurpose activity space that will benefit all members, from the young to the young at heart.

Enhanced with trees and landscaping, “The Green” provides an outdoor area for kids in child care programs and camp to play and be active, and a unique space for health and wellness classes, youth sports, family nights, and small group personal training. Current activities include:

  • Backyard family games on Thursdays from 4-7:30 p.m.
  • Tai chi on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Yoga - Tuesdays at 6 a.m., Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 8 a.m., and Sundays at 9 a.m.

“We’re so excited to bring renovations to the Wayne YMCA. An updated space like “The Green” provides unlimited opportunities for various programs that our members will enjoy for a long time,” says Laura Tiedge, executive director of the Wayne Y.

Stop by the Wayne Y or call 973-595-0100 to learn more about “The Green,” memberships and other services.
