Metro YMCA of the Oranges Announces Exciting Summer Job Opportunities

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges invites enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Y’s vibrant team at camp this summer. Offering a variety of roles, the YMCA’s summer camps are the perfect place to make a positive impact on the lives of young campers while gaining invaluable skills and experiences in a dynamic and supportive environment.
This summer, the Y seeks to fill positions ranging from camp counselors and activity specialists to support staff and lifeguards at day camps in Bergen, Essex, Passaic, and Sussex Counties, as well as sleepaway camps in Newton and Blairstown, NJ and Harriman State Park in New York.
Ideal candidates should be passionate about youth development, energetic, and ready to contribute to a safe and engaging camp atmosphere. Camps offer a unique environment where staff can develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, all while making lasting memories and friendships.
"Our summer camps are dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, helping them to cultivate a sense of achievement and belonging," said Shamida Marc, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Metro YMCA of the Oranges. "We're looking for individuals who are not only looking to have a fun summer but also to make a difference. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early as positions are filled on a rolling basis. On-the-spot interviews are also available on weekdays for positions at East Orange YMCA, Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, Sussex County, Wayne, and West Essex YMCAs. In addition to camp, the Y is hiring for roles in its Early Childhood Learning Centers, including Preschool Lead Teachers, in East Orange, Livingston, Maplewood, and Wayne. The Y also has openings in Health & Wellness, Aquatics, Membership Services, Youth Sports, and Facility Maintenance.
