Three New Members Join Metro YMCA's Board of Directors

LIVINGSTON, NJ -The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges recently welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors, to help set policy and strategic direction as the organization works to carry out its mission to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
"The addition of these three professionals to our Board brings invaluable leadership and a diverse range of skills. Their dedication to our mission will be instrumental as we address our Strategic Priorities and meet the evolving needs of our communities,” said Richard K. Gorab, President and CEO of the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges.
Michael D. D’Alessandro, of Wayne, is the Market Business Director for Optimum, one of the largest broadband communications and video service providers in the U.S. In his role, he relies on his over 30 years of sales operations and marketing experience to develop strategies that drive growth, employee engagement, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience in the Northeast Optimum markets. D’Alessandro is known for being an exceptional leader and communicator who helps cross-functional teams align goals and priorities to reach their goals. He and his wife Jari have lived in Wayne for over 25 years, where they have raised their three children, Hayley, Jarrett, and Maddie.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to join the Board and be part of an organization as special as the Metro YMCA of the Oranges. I am looking forward to helping to build and support the mission in the communities served,” he said.
José A. Galván, of Warren, is a Managing Director and COO of Global Market Americas at Natixis CIB, based in New York City. He has over 24 years of experience in the investment banking industry. At Natixis, he directs the operational execution of business strategy, IT transformation, systems architecture projects, financial planning and analysis, and the control governance framework for Global Markets. Previously, he held COO and finance roles at Nomura based in New York, Tokyo and Singapore.
He holds a B.A. in Economics and Spanish Language and Literature from Northwestern University, is fluent in Spanish, and has been featured in Hispanic Executive Magazine. Outside of work, he cherishes time with his family and pursues his passions for soccer, baseball, golf, and travel.
“I am excited to join this wonderful organization that provides so much to their communities. I look forward to working with everyone at the Metro Y to help advance the Y’s mission,” said Galván.
Hams Tripathi, of Livingston, is Vice President of Development & Construction at Kushner and is leading the development of over 2,000 multi-family units in New Jersey ranging from complex redevelopment projects to urban infill projects. Prior to Kushner, he was the Director of Development at The Briad Group, where he led the development of over 1,000+ keys select-service upscale Marriott/Hilton hotels in the Northeast and California. Tripathi is a seasoned and accomplished real estate development professional with over 21 years of experience. Prior to Briad, he spent over a decade in consulting advising real estate developers, REITs, and public sector agencies on complex technical issues.
He and his wife reside in Livingston with their two school-aged children.
“My family has benefited from the Y for several years and I am very enthusiastic about joining the Y Board. I look forward to contributing to the Y’s cause and making measurable differences within our communities,” he said.
