Two decades ago, Nancy Josephs took a risk when she left her job as a management consultant in the healthcare field to co-start a business in a very different industry, one she was not familiar with. What she did have was a desire and drive to learn.

After an extensive national search, the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges has named Daniel P. Elwell, Sr. as the organization’s new Chief Development Officer. He will work closely with the Metro Y leadership teams to develop and spearhead annual fundraising initiatives and strategies to advance the Y’s mission. 

Following an extensive search that saw more than 130 applicants, the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges has named seasoned YMCA leader Cheryl Tuturice as the new head of its West Essex YMCA branch, succeeding former Executive Director Helen Flores. 

The East Orange YMCA has named city resident Washima Redding as the branch’s newest Executive Director. 

Washima Redding, who has built a career inspiring others to become their best selves, was recently named the associate executive director of the Greater Bergen County YMCA.

Corey Brown was honored as the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges' Staff Member of the Year for his leadership of the Sussex County YMCA following completion of a $3.8 million expansion and strong growth in membership.
