The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges was founded as a place where all people could find hope, fellowship, and healing. As our communities reemerge from the difficulty and uncertainty of the past few years, we are challenged to find new ways to address critical community issues and keep our organization thriving for years to come. Many single parents, foster parents, or low-income households rely on childcare to pursue careers or provide the essential support services needed to raise a child. It takes a community, and the Y builds healthy communities for all thanks to your donation.
From special programs like LiveStrong through our aquatics teams, to camp retreats for our youth, the Y transforms charitable giving into live changing experiences.
Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1-4. African-American children ages 5 to 19 drown in swimming pools at rates 5.5 times higher than Caucasian children in the same age range.
The Y offers both day and sleepaway camps and a connection to nature that many children would never be able to experience without the financial support provide through charitable donations.
The Y works to end isolation among seniors and provide healthy lifestyle opportunities to all, regardless of their ability to pay. Living on a fixed income should not prevent access to physical activities and community engagement.
Adaptive programs at the Y provide youth and adults with disabilities the chance to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, fun atmosphere.
