Wayne YMCA Enrichment Classes

At the Y children of all ages have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive through a variety of enrichment opportunities.  Children as young as 2 years old can participate in Movement and Dance classes, as well as Creative Cooking.  Chess, STEAM, and Sports and Fitness round out our offerings for older children and teens up to 18 years of age.   To view all classes for all ages, please scroll down.

Leaders Club


Ages 12-17
Leader's Club provides young people with opportunities for leadership training, personal growth, service to others, and social development.  Participants work closely with their peers and staff on skill and character building activities, as well as on planning and organizing club projects.  All programs provide a safe haven for young people to become confident and competent adults with a sense of belonging in their community, and promote and enhance the personal growth and social skills of young people in order to develop leaders who will be a positive force in their community.  Contact lsheafer@metroymcas.org for more information. 

New! Art Classes with Upper West Art

Classes are designed to help students work with the right side of their brain, developing creativity, imagination, fine motor skills, non-verbal visualization and helping children express feelings through art.  All materials and tools are included in fee. Eight-week program includes clay sculpting, life model drawing, painting in acrylic and/or oil on canvas, monotype (prints), pastel or chalk drawing.

The Art of Acting

Audition Workshop

Looking to enhance your audition skills? The hardest part sometime is just walking into the room. This class will help to build confidence as well as work on material to fully prepare you to give a successful audition.

Improv Workshop

Improv has been proven to enhance confidence, promote communication and listening skills.  Participants will learn the art of improv through games  and scene work lead by a Second City and PIT trained improviser.  An end of session improv set will be performed on the Rosen PAC stage.
