The YMCA offers several membership categories to meet the needs of the communities we serve. For specific information on membership offerings at your local branch, please visit their page:

Facility Memberships

YOUTH: Individuals aged 0 - 12 years old
TEEN: Individuals aged 13 - 17 years old
YOUNG ADULT: Individuals aged 18 - 22 years old
ADULT: Individuals aged 23 - 64 years old
SENIOR: Individuals or couples age 65 and up
FAMILY: Two adults living in the same household and children up to the age of 18 or 22 with the proof that they are full time college students
SENIOR COUPLE: Two seniors living in the same household

Joiner Fee

Upon joining, new members pay a one time joiner fee in addition to the membership dues. You may rejoin within 30 days of expiration date without repaying this fee. Joiner fee is non-refundable. Members from another YMCA in good standing may request a waiver of joiner fee.

6th, 7TH and 8TH Grade Membership

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is pleased to offer middle school students (6-8th grade) a free membership to support and encourage youth to live healthy lifestyles and make responsible choices. This membership program is offered during the school year, from September-June. The Y also offers youth and teen memberships year-round.

Insurance Based Memberships

The YMCA is making it more affordable for individuals and families to stay active and healthy by partnering with select health insurance providers: 

Active & Fit

Active & Fit is a benefit offered through some employer health plans that gives its members a no-cost membership at the YMCA. Check with your health insurance plan to see if this benefit is available.

HorizonbFit

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and the YMCA is making regular exercise even more beneficial for you with a program that rewards you when you stay on track to achieve your fitness goals. Visit horizonbfit.com to verify eligibility. 

RenewActive (formerly At Your Best)

For participants of select Medicare Advantage Plans through UnitedHealthcare. Stay active and enjoy the benefits of a facility YMCA membership. To check eligibility, call your UnitedHealthcare plan’s Customer Service toll-free number on the back of your member ID card, or visit uhcrenewactive.com.  

Horizon Family Gateway

The YMCA offers Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey members a FREE, one-month membership. The Gateway Family Membership is designed to provide families who are new to the YMCA access to a full array of services and many health and wellness programs. To register, bring your Horizon Blue Cross ID card to your Y's Welcome Center. 

Satisfaction Guarantee

The YMCA pledges to offer high-quality services to our members. If you are dissatisfied with any of our programs, the unused portion of your tuition or program fees will be refunded, or may be credited to the program or membership of your choice. 

Bank/Credit Card Draft

Your account is assessed a pre-approved amount, at the same time each month. A 30 days written notice is required by the YMCA for cancellation or any changes to the account or bank information. The Bank/Credit Card Draft option is only available at the Sussex County YMCA and Bank Draft at the West Essex YMCAs.

Full Payment

Cash, checks, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment of membership or programs.
