VIRTUAL KINDERGARTEN READINESS PROGRAM

The YMCA’s Virtual Kindergarten Readiness program is designed to engage your child in developmentally appropriate activities to enhance and develop their social-emotional, cognitive and language development in alignment with the NJ Preschool Standards and The Creative Curriculum Objectives for Development & Learning.

Each Virtual Kindergarten Readiness session will provide your child with opportunities to learn in a group setting via Zoom technology. Sessions are driven by weekly topics that will provide each child an opportunity for sharing, and a strong emphasis on content through review and applications of mathematics and literacy concepts that are fundamental for their age group. Sessions are being offered two days (Tuesday/Thursday) or three days (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) a week.

As a follow up to each session, your instructor will send you school-home connections that will allow your child to extend the skills they experienced in the session, at home.

Weekly Session Themes are set up to scaffold from one week to another so there is fluid learning within the program. Some examples of themes are: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle; Signs of Spring; Gardening; Exploring Trees, Insects, & Kites + Wind.
