Adult Sports Schedules

Adult Sports include:

Aikido

This class is designed to incrementally learn the Japanese martial art of Aikido as a health and fitness lifestyle. The goal in Aikido is to defend oneself, rendering as little harm as possible to an aggressor.

Basketball

Shoot hoops with your friends in a semi-competitive atmosphere. Whether you are serious about your hoop game or just enjoy passing the ball with your friends, this fun and competitive league will give you a chance to keep your mind and body sharp.

Co-ed Volleyball League

Meet new friends and practice a favorite team sport also invented by the YMCA! 6-10 players per team; all levels welcome. Players can sign up with a group or be placed on a team. Participants play a minimum of 25 games per season, plus a playoff tournament at the end.

Flag Football League

Grab some friends and sign up for our Adult Flag Football League, where you’ll get to practice skill development in a positive, structured environment. Team captains must register with the Y first. BJ Freeland, an award-winning former high school, college, and semi-pro football player and owner of the New Jersey Stags, will be coordinating the league for fall 2023.

Lap Swim

Some recreational swim times are scheduled regularly throughout the week for our members and guests. Lap swimming is an excellent opportunity to practice swimming skills and a fun way to get some exercise!

Pickleball

Described as the fastest growing sport for adults, pickleball is a racquet sport that combines badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The court dimensions are the same as a doubles badminton court, and the net is similar to a tennis net but mounted two inches lower.

Racquetball

Did you know that racquetball was first played in 1952 at the YMCA? Since then it has grown in popularity as an intense, fast, calorie-burning workout.

Tennis

Tennis is not only a great aerobic and cardiovascular exercise, but it also improves hand-eye coordination, agility, and flexibility.
