Summer Counselor in Training (CIT) Camp

Registration Now Open!

At the Y, we let you pay your summer camp balance in a way that works for you! When you sign up, you'll need to provide payment information, but you stay in control. As long as you pay each installment before the due date listed on your receipt, no automatic payment will be processed. If you partially pay early, only the remaining balance will be charged. You can make payments anytime from registration until each installment’s due date, at any frequency.
To pay your balance:

  • Visit your branch’s Welcome Center
  • Call our Remote Welcome Center at 973-758-9039

ALL CAMPS: Starting February 1, a $35 administrative fee will be added for changes to your camp experience. April 1 - Final day for camp deposit refund.


We believe in building leaders and responsible counselors. Our progressive program provides leadership training, team building and skill development. We have multiple workshops highlighting finance/budgeting, high school prep, college readiness, interviewing, life skills and more!
 
CITs are assigned to a senior counselors to shadow each week and prepare, organize and assist with camp activities. Arts & Enrichment CITs go to Creative Theater, Summer Discovery or Global Arts and Traditional CITs are assigned to SOMAPY or YKNOTS.
 
Our CIT's grow and develop a shared passion for kids and camp! This program is offered in three, 3-week sessions. You must attend Session 1 or 2 to be eligible for Session 3.

Once your CIT background check is complete, all CIT’s must complete mandatory Child Abuse Prevention online training prior to starting their first day of camp.
