Fall Session: October 3 – December 11

Our Youth Sports Programs cultivate values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Youth sports help children to grow personally, appreciate diversity, develop leadership skills and have fun. We incorporate our core values: Respect, Honest, Responsibility and Caring into all our classes.

PARENTS NOTE: Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are unable to pick up and return children to their ECLC classrooms.

My First Gym Class!

(4 – 5 ½ yrs)
It’s the best part of gym class- being active while having fun and escaping the normal classroom setting. Kids will have the opportunity to get active and develop gross motor skills while playing games and having a blast!
Friday:

KARATE DO

Karate Do is contact free and will be taught by Sensei Carmen Puglio who is a life-long Maplewood resident with 48 years of experience. Karate Do focuses on health and longevity and goes back to the basics of stretching, breathing, conditioning, stances, katas and form.
Each Karate Do class begins with 10 minutes of Stretching, Conditioning and Breathing; then progresses to 20 minutes of Basic Karate and 10 minutes of Katas and Forms. The class finishes with 5 minutes of meditation.
Ranking by Belts from white to black and promotions remain the same.

KINDER SOCCER 

(4 -5 1/2 yrs.)
Learn introductory soccer skills and the importance of fair play, teamwork and good sportsmanship all while having fun!
Tuesday: 10:00-10:45am
Location: Y Gym/Y Field (weather permitting)

PEE WEE TENNIS

Learn to play with junior sized tennis racquets, oversized balls and super fun instruction! Racquets are supplied or bring your own. We build confidence, develop physical coordination and practice good sportsmanship.

Ages 4 – 5 ½                Monday 3:30-4:15pm
Ages 6 – 8                    Wednesday 3:30-4:15pm

STRIDER BALANCE BIKE TRAINING 

(2.5 -5 yrs)
Explore mobility on two wheels, improve motor skills development, increase balance, strength and build confidence and coordination. Children focus solely on learning balance first. Research shows that learning balance and coordination with exercise jump-starts a child’s growth and development. Helmet use required. Bring your own or use the Y’s helmets.
Wednesday: 10:00-10:45am

TGA GOLF 

(5-12 yrs) *abbreviated 4 week session
We partner with TGA Premier Junior Golf and introduce new players to this great game. Players progress through TGA's five level program including putting, swing fundamentals, rules and etiquette.  Rainy days are made up at the end of the session.
