Wayne YMCA

Infant Care Program in Wayne, NJ

In our Infant (6 weeks – 18months) program our youngest participants receive quality care in a small group setting. At a 1:4 we have the lowest staff to child ratio in the program. Infants are assigned a primary caregiver within the classroom who follows their lead. Each caregiver knows the importance of forming a close relationship with their assigned children and his/her family.

Program Highlights

  • Daily written communication is given to the parents highlighting their child’s day.
  • We create an environment that helps each child develop in their social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language domains. Children are stimulated in age appropriate activities such as art projects, simple games, songs and stories.
  • Older infants and Waddlers go on daily walks and play in our indoor play areas.
  • Waddlers will begin to participate in enrichment programming (Gym and Music + Movement)
