Learn More About Our Day Camps

Are you in search of fun summer camp activities for your child? Metro YMCA has plenty of opportunities for your child to learn and grow, all under the supervision of responsible adults. The Metro YMCA is a 501(c)3 non-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As part of this mission, we offer several day camps that are sure to pique your child's interest.

Why You Should Send Your Child to Day Camp

Day camps are exciting opportunities for children of all ages to learn, grow, and thrive. Parents of school-aged children know the boredom and stir-craziness that comes with the summer months. Day camps are an excellent way to keep your child engaged through June, July, and August. Not only will they conquer their boredom, but campers will also build long-lasting friendships and gain new skills. They'll learn to be a member of a community and gain a sense of accomplishment. All in all, day camps are designed to help children mature socially, emotionally, intellectually, morally, and physically.

Explore Our Numerous Available Day Camps

We plan on offering an array of fun camps during the summer for children of all ages. Whether you're the parent of a toddler or a middle schooler, we have the perfect day camps to cater to your child’s interests. We hope to provide the following camps this year or in the coming summers:

  • ABC Summer Camp: This camp for children aged 2-4 gives campers the opportunity to play, swim, cook, and more all while under the supervision of our experienced and caring staff. Each week has its own theme—some selections include Rainbows Rock and Pirates + Princesses.
  • White Pines Day Camp: This traditional day camp is meant for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Campers will be split into age groups and enjoy a plethora of camp activities. We offer water safety and swimming, arts and crafts, dance fitness, and much more.
  • Teen Adventure Travel Camp: Designed for grades 6-9, the Teen Adventure Travel Camp involves excursions to exciting locations throughout the region. We'll take up to three trips per week to places such as New York City, theme parks, and local beaches, among others. Please note that this camp has been canceled for 2020; however, we hope to have it in upcoming years.
  • Sports Specialty Camp: Does your child love sports? We offer this day camp to ages 6-12, and here, campers will be able to play all kinds of sports and participate in recreational activities with their peers. We cover everything from basketball and volleyball to tennis and pickleball.
  • Counselor-in-Training Program: Some campers who have been with us for the last few summers are excited about the idea of becoming a counselor themselves. We offer this training program to teenagers aged 13-15. Participants help our current counselors organize games and activities for younger campers.
