Our YMCA Sports Camp in Wayne, NJ provides a combination of planned and optional kid’s activities to give children exposure to a variety of sports and recreational activities designed to build skills and confidence. Thanks to our enthusiastic, experienced counselors, this multi-sport summer camp provides a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages. NEW! Basketball Camp

We provide intense programming in which campers will further develop basketball skills, learn game strategies, and achieve goals both on and off the court. Each day is spent improving fundamentals, performing interactive drills, building offensive and defensive skills, playing in-house tournaments, and getting in shape. Soccer

One of the most popular sports played around the globe, soccer emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship. Children registered in soccer camp are encouraged to be active physically, mentally, and socially while developing the skills necessary to be a soccer star on the field of life.

Swimming

For well over a century, millions of Americans have trusted the swim instructors at their local YMCA for swim lessons and more. Campers will enjoy swimming in our indoor pool or the nearby lake. From beginners to those interested in improving their swim stroke techniques, there’s room for everyone.

Dodgeball

Grab some new friends and get moving in our intense dodgeball programming. Dodgeball is a sport that teaches throwing, catching, movement, and agility skills. Not only is dodgeball fun and challenging for our campers, but it’s also a fantastic form of anaerobic exercise promoting hand-eye coordination.

Tennis

Tennis is not only great aerobic and cardiovascular exercise for our campers, but it also improves hand-eye coordination, agility, and flexibility, as well as gross and fine motor coordination skills. Many parents choose tennis for their children because it’s a no-contact sport that also boosts mental development.

Kickball

Kickball helps children refine their gross and fine motor skills, as well as their hand-eye coordination, timing, balance, and good sportsmanship skills. Learning how much force is necessary to throw or kick a ball to avoid excessive force is another valuable lesson taught at YMCA Sports Camp.

Volleyball

Bump, set, spike! Kids enjoy making new friends and learning new skills developed through the game of volleyball. Summer camp is an ideal setting to teach kids how to play organized volleyball from an early age, so they’re ready to participate on the school’s team by the time they reach junior high or high school.

Wiffle Ball

Wiffleball provides a suitable introduction to baseball and softball, promoting hand-eye coordination with less competitive pressure than alternatives such as T-ball. A popular backyard staple since the 1950s, Wiffle ball now has tournaments and leagues spanning the nation. Your kids will enjoy learning the basics of Wiffle ball during our YMCA Sports Camp!

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport suitable for all ages and skill levels. Played indoors or outdoors, pickleball is played like tennis in either singles or doubles using a paddle, plastic ball with holes, and a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball is a fun way to burn calories and boost mental health, balance, and agility while forming new friendships on and off the court.

Are you interested in signing up your kids for our fun-filled YMCA Sports Camp in Wayne, NJ? Campers must be members of one of our YMCA branches at the time of registration and throughout the length of their camp participation. You must register online to guarantee a spot. A registration fee of $50 and a $50 deposit per week will be required during registration. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, don’t let that deter you from participating in our programming. As an all-inclusive organization, we rely on the generous donations of our members to help provide financial assistance for deserving individuals and families within our community.
