Super Summer Day Camp

Registration Now Open! 

At the Y, we let you pay your summer camp balance in a way that works for you! When you sign up, you'll need to provide payment information, but you stay in control. As long as you pay each installment before the due date listed on your receipt, no automatic payment will be processed. If you partially pay early, only the remaining balance will be charged. You can make payments anytime from registration until each installment’s due date, at any frequency.

ALL CAMPS: Starting February 1, a $35 administrative fee will be added for changes to your camp experience. April 1 - Final day for camp deposit refund.


Super Summer Day Camp is a full day, five day a week program for campers entering Kindergarten through Sixth Grade and for parents who desire affordable, high quality care. Located at Livingston High School for the camp day, campers enjoy superb indoor and outdoor facilities before returning to the Y for afternoon swim, group activities and pick up.

All campers are grouped by the grade they will enter in September. Activities include Art, Archery, Science, Drama, Sports, Cooking, Dance, CATCH Games and Swimming. Super Summer campers enjoy weekly themes and special camp events to provide a fun and enriching summer experience.

Calendar and Themes


Afternoon snack and Pizza Fridays included in the 2025 camp fees!


Drop off & Pick Up Locations:
The camp day starts off at Livingston High School. The camp walks across the street to the YMCA in the afternoon where pick up takes place.


Camp Activities: 
Each week of camp has a special theme along with corresponding activities for the week. Our Specialists provide age appropriate instruction in Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Archery, Performing Arts, STEAM (Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Math), Indoor and Outdoor Sports, and Swimming.


Special Events & Field Trips: 
Every week of camp includes either a field trip or special event such as an on-site educational or instructive program to keep camp fresh throughout the summer. Parents receive advance notification through the camp calendar and weekly emails about upcoming camp events.


Traditions: 
Super Summer brings back many traditions year after year to the delight of our campers and staff. Highlights include the Camp Color War, the Camp Show and the end of Camp Carnival.


Minimum Camper-to-Staff Ratio:
K-6 to 1, Grades 1-3: 8 to 1; Grades 4 & up: 10 to 1.

Y Membership:
A current West Essex YMCA membership throughout the length of camp participation is required at the time of registration to secure membership rates, otherwise the Community Member rate will apply. Join today!

MEET THE STAFF
Jeremy Lastra

Jay has overseen camps throughout NJ for the last 15 years. During the school year he oversees the West Essex YMCA’s Before and After School Programs in Livingston and Roseland. Jay will oversee all day-to-day operations of Super Summer and Teen Adventure Camp this year. To Jay, camp builds confidence, friendships, and communities. He is excited to take children on the magical journey of camp.
